Fireworks Promotions together with the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture will host a Refuse to Lose Boxing Extravaganza on Sunday where Mthatha Boxing Champion Xolani Mcotheni will be defending his title against Gauteng Marcus Lebogo at the Indoor Sports Centre in Mdantsane.
This was announced at the Premedical Media Briefing at Motion Fitness in Mdantsane NU6 on Wednesday.
SA Junior Welterweight champion Xolani Mcotheli said he is ready for the fight as he has been preparing before June.
“The fight was supposed to be in July and has been postponed many times and that has given me enough time to prepare, so I am fit and confident that I will win,” said Mcotheli.
Fireworks Promotions Director Mlungisi Siyo who is the organizer of the fight said the leading fight is between Mcotheli who will be defending his title against Lebogo and Luvuyo Sizani against Jackson Masamba for the Vacant Abu (SADC) light-heavyweight title.
“There will be a lot of interesting fights and there are people from Gauteng, Limpopo, North West, and the Democratic Republic Congo so people must come on the 6th at the Indoor Sports Centre in Mdantsane,” said Siyo.
Award-winning matchmaker Luyanda Kanga said he prepared this fight to be a 50/50 where both fighters will have equal weight and equal fighting ability.
