Police in the Eastern Cape are offering a reward of up to fifty thousand rands to any person who may provide information that can lead to the arrest for the killer of the late Tornado Football Club owner and the prominent businessman Siphiwo ‘Mawawa’ Nyobo.
Nyobo, 55, was gunned down outside North End stadium on the 2nd of March, however police have not managed to make any arrests of the perpetrators.
Speaking at his funeral over the weekend sport minister Thokozile Xasa said, incidents like these have a potential of pushing investors away from South Africa and particularly in the Buffalo City area. The minister also urged police to bring perpetrators to book.
Family spokesperson Ndyebo Skhelenge said “we still trust that the police will eventually arrest the killer of Mawawa and we are not panicking.”
