Representing the Eastern Cape in the Miss Teenager SA pageant, beauty queen Nonelela Ndzube is appealing to the community to vote for her to stay in the top 10.
The bubbly, outgoing 17 year old who is a grade 12 learner at Kingsridge High School for girls (KHS) in King Williams Town, was selected as one of 120 national finalists after she auditioned in Cape Town.
Since she started modelling in primary school, Ndzube has entered quite a few beauty contests such as Miss Junior Town Council, Miss BCM Heritage and recently Miss KHS where she took the first princess prize and has modelled in different fashion shows.
The aspiring model said she entered the Miss Teenager SA competition because it would give her a platform to express her vision of empowering the youth. “I chose to enter the pageant as it would give me the platform to empower, inspire and motivate other young people to be great and aim for success,’’ she said.
Miss teenager SA contestants are challenged to take part in charity work. Ndzube said as part of her charity work she always chooses to work in projects that reach out to both the young and old.
“I do work that reaches out to young and old people. I believe that as teenagers we are in the middle of society, we are not children nor adults so doing work that reaches out to both will allow me to learn new things and grow as an individual. I enjoy every aspect of my charity work as everything that I do, I do with passion and love, I don’t do it for the sake of the competition.”
Ndzube is also looking for financial sponsorship that will assist her in her charity work.
“We have to get sponsors for different things. I am doing a lot of charity work and I don’t have the money personally therefore a sponsor of any kind would be appreciated.”
She said winning the pageant would mean that she would be able to reach her goal of empowering and touching young people’s lives and it would also mean she has made her biggest fan, her mom proud.
The young beauty queen is appealing to the public to continue to vote for her by SMSing MTSA NONELELA to 47439. Voting is unlimited so one can vote as many times as they wish. People can also follow her journey on her Facebook page Nonelela Ndzube road 2 miss teenager SA or follow her on Instagram @Mellisa_Ndzube.
The Miss Teenager SA pageant is due to take place on the 18th of May 2019 in Johannesburg.
