The East London Golf club is nominated in the World Golf awards. The award ceremony will take place at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, October 29.
The general manager Brenden Fourie said the EL Golf Club which is ranked the 10th best golf courses in South Africa was founded in 1893 and it is one of the oldest clubs in South Africa and is known as the championship golf course world wide.
“We are very proud of being the 10th best golf course and we always look forward to tourists coming to visit and see what a special golf course we have,” he said.
He said they are nominated as the best golf course in South Africa. The World Golf Awards have people that go around and rate golf courses. He added that being nominated is fantastic for them and they are happy.
“We do our own marketing to get our members, people who play here, visitors and other people to vote for us. The voting runs until September. People can vote for us on our facebook page,” said Fourie.
Each golf course advertises for people to vote for them and at the end, World Golf Awards checks which course has the most votes and then announce the winners.
