Luyolo Yiba from King William’s Town has put the Eastern Cape and Buffalo City Metro on the map as he is one of the top three South African Idols finalists and is currently having the time of his life in New York City.
Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Xola Pakati said they are deeply delighted by the performance of Luyolo on Idols and this confirms the fact that the city is endowed with talents that have not been fully explored.
“We are happy that Luyolo is beautifully demonstrating his beautiful voice and we are also very sure that he has shown the world about us and the potential that our people possess. We wish him all the best and we are confident that he will bring the title,” said Pakati.
One of Luyolo Yiba’s fans that is also a student at Walter Sisulu University Siyamthanda Dwesini said, it is significant that as an Eastern Cape citizen she votes for him.
She added that he is not just raising the province’s flag but as an alumna of Walter Sisulu University.
“Of course I am voting for Luyolo Yiba and he stands a very high chance of winning because of his voice and he has a very large fan base and has grown to be the darling of idols and for the rest of South Africa,” she said.
