Buffalo City Metro is experiencing floods

Buffalo City Metro is appealing to all the residents and motorists to exercise extra caution due to wet weather conditions in the area, this as the area is hard hit by floods.

BCM spokesperson Samkelo Ngwenya said they have already dispatched emergency services to respond to various areas. 

“Our traffic officers are onsite in a flooded Pontoon road, Settlersway towards the airport. We have reported floods in Gloucester Road, Vincent,” said Ngwenya. 

Ngwenya further said that some areas of the metro area experiencing power outages. 

“Our technicians are also responding to the following areas who are experiencing power outages: Parts of Beacon Bay, Buffalo Flats, Cambridge West, streets in Gonubie and Mdantsane Zone 7.”

“Unfortunately for the people of the Berlin area don’t have water as we have a pump station that is being repaired by Amatola Water in Ndevana, affecting it’s villages Tshabo and Dongwe,” said Ngwenya.

Buffalo City Metro said all its emergency teams will be on standby as the South African Weather Services predictions that there will be consistent rain today.
