Dimbaza residents have had enough of the burglaries happening in their community.
According to a member of the police forum who wanted to remain anonymous, the break-ins to schools, churches and homes are escalating in their community.
She said criminals steal computers, school stationery, toilets seats, beds, TVs, and refrigerators.
“As the forum, we take it upon ourselves to look for the suspects and plead with the victims to go open cases,” she said.
Anonymous expounded that the stolen items are sold to local shops and later sold back to the community members.
Although the police forum makes all these efforts to curb crime instead, it increases daily as residents remain victims of theft.
In-addition Anonymous said they are assisting the police with finding these criminals.
“We do not sleep, we hunt down these criminals day and night. We want a safe and sound community,” she said.
A resident from Dimbaza Ayanda Njoli said they are tired of these criminal activities as they fear for their lives and children.
“We are not safe, they break into our houses while we are asleep. Some of us work night shifts and leave our children at home alone,” said Njoli.
Another resident who did not want to be mentioned by name said when he got home his TV and shoes were missing.
“When I got home the door was opened, I immediately saw that my plasma screen television was gone and I started checking if there was anything else missing,” he said.
An inquest docket has been filled by the police.
