The new Mayibuye Transportation Corporation Chief Executive Officer Nomphelo Roboji is expected to take the reins on 01 June 2021.
This was announced by the Eastern Cape Department of Transport MEC Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe during the unveiling of the new CEO.
The soon to be former Eastern Cape Department Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Deputy Director-General is serving her final notice at the department.
Tikana-Gxothiwe applauded the board for choosing Roboji.
She added the fact that it is a woman makes her even prouder.
“The fact that the person entrusted with carrying out the duties of a CEO is a woman makes me even prouder. We have all the confidence in Ms Roboji that she will be equal to the task at hand. We want to see this all-important bus service moving forward and being able to self-sustain and most importantly expand its service to reach even more of our rural communities in desperate need of its services,” said Tikana-Gxothiwe.
During the unveiling, Roboji accepted her duties and pledged to her best.
“I accept my duties as the new Mayibuye Transportation Corporation CEO and I pledge to do my best at doing my job,” she said.
