A Mdantsane born Beauty Therapist and Fashion designer Siyasanga Honana ,31, created her nail product HOHANA-Nail Cuticle Oil.

The owner of Hohana Style up studio S.A based in N.U1 Mdantsane 1967, obtained her National Diploma as a Beauty Therapist at Camelot International Beauty College.

According to the vivacious Hohana, the idea of making her nail cuticle oil first approached her in 2013 when she opened her first nail bar in Mondeor Johannesburg.

“I was mixing my oils and creating my cuticle oil, it was good and my clients loved it. It was then, I told myself that when the time is right I’ll create my own,” she said.

After Hohana was faced with difficulties, she took a break from her business and moved to Cape Town in 2017 to start her life afresh.

“I got employed at Grand Style Hiring, where I was doing events. The company taught me a lot, business skills and clientele service,” said Hohana.

In addition in 2019, Hohana moved back to Mdantsane to re-establish her career and opened her nail studio bar in April 2021 and officially launched her nail salon in July 2021.

“I started working for myself again in my grandmother’s garage and I would do nails there and the passion came back. I worked on my oil then and I did things professionally this time, getting the right ingredients, the bottles and my branding,” said Hohana.
