Esonasipho Mgcwaba, 19, from Dimbaza took it upon herself to tutor high schools learners using WhatsApp during the 21-day National lockdown.
According to the University of Johannesburg first-year student who is studying a Bachelor of Arts degree, she matriculated from Richard Varha High School in 2019.
She said she teaches History in a WhatsApp group she created which has about 120 matriculants.
“I know how it feels like to be a matriculant working under pressure, I have decided to open a group chat for people who are doing History as a subject,” she said.
Mgcwaba expressed that she will assist them with question papers, essays and by using her 2019 scripts.
“History has a lot of essays, I will provide them with script and essays from the last year,” she said.
In addition, Mgcwaba said she will also make tutorial videos, which will assist matriculants during the 21 days of the lockdown.
