The number of COVID-19 in cases in the Buffalo City Metro area might rise. This after the Provincial Department of Health has called on all the patients who visited Dr Sizwe Mxenge’s surgery in King William’s Town between the 27th of March and the 9th of April to avail themselves for COVID-19 testing.

The 47-year-old doctor tested positive for COVID-19 and has been admitted at a private hospital in East London.

The doctor is one of the highly favoured doctors in town and sees a number of patients a day especially elderly people from various villages around King William’s Town.

Now the Health Department is appealing to all patients who had been seen by Dr, Mxenge to come forward to be tested for COVID-19 as part of preventing the further spread of this pandemic.

The Buffalo City Metro currently has 135 confirmed cases of Coronavirus.
