An illegal dumping site was discovered outside Mdantsane NU 7.
Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality spokesperson Samkelo Ngwenya said the municipality is investigating the matter and the truck’s registration was recovered during the illegal dumping.
“Fortunately for us, the whistleblower has the registration of the trucks that are in question and we are going to first check with our system if it’s not one of our trucks,” said Ngwenya.
Ngwenya added, with the assistance of the city’s law enforcement, they are going to track down the culprits and act in accordance.
“It would be easy if the company involved would save us the trouble and come forward so that we do not go through the process of tracking down the trucks,” he said.
He added that there will be severe consequences for the lawbreakers.
