Hlumelo Nyaluza is a 29year old visionary from Phakamisa, a township southeast of Qonce. From a young age, he has dreamt of having his empire that would be known as HN, which is short for Human Navigation.
He lost his mother to cancer at the tender age of 13 years, but that did not deter him from chasing his dream.
After matric, he moved away from home to experience life away from his comfort zone and to further his education and along the way got to experience success and failure.
“I grew up with an obsession of being a magician or superhero to save the world from itself. That’s how the HN purpose was born. HN stands for Human Navigation, navigating humans to the future using my extremely unique ventures like the 2011 clothing line I started, a long tie to success initiative that consisted of a three-meter long tie that celebrities wrote messages on to inspire my peers and a 27-hour radio show that I did in one go as well as my book that’s read backwards titled, Navigate Humans: Be Against Normality,” said Nyaluza.
In 2011 he dropped out of Nelson Mandela University where he had been studying electrical engineering to focus on his dream of building an empire. After failing to make any profits, he went back to university where he enrolled at Walter Sisulu University to study Information Technology where he later dropped out to focus entirely on his dream.
Although he may not be as successful as he would like to be in all his ventures, he managed to grab the attention of a Bangladesh based company called TechCom where he was tasked with creating a unique app. He had a prototype that he had designed in 2011 and only had to improve on it in 2018 and got the company to code it.
“I was inspired to create HN CitiPages to connect all Africans and make their dreams and thoughts heard by the world. The app connects all users of the app on the homepage as well. A user doesn’t need to be followed or follow anyone to see or be seen by the world. My dream, or rather purpose, in life, is to make my dreams come true through my avant-garde ventures. So I want to make sure future millionaires are discovered in this app,” said Nyaluza.
Nyaluza told of how people misunderstood his concepts which led to him not having mentors, investors or people who’d be willing to test his products but with time there has been an improvement as now people are listening to his ideas and are starting to understand his vision.
He said he keeps himself motivated by “detaching from the world, keeping my soul clean and connecting with the higher power to get all the concepts I should introduce to humans to liberate their dreams and minds.”
